There was a man in D.C. that was arguing with his stepfather over yard work and the argument took a terrible turn. The 27 year old step son ended up shooting his step father because he didn't want to do something. The stepfather that was shot was a policeman for D.C. He was a policeman for 24 years and he is no longer. The step son ended up getting away and no one knows where he is. He is a 6'1" 170 pound guy. Everyone that was apart of the police force in D.C. liked this man and are now mourning the loss of a policeman.

Turkish Pianist in Trouble

A piano player from Turkey is in some big trouble for making some comments about religions through Twitter. He was making some jokes about a religion leader and some Islamic practices. The forty three year old man was originally sentenced a ten month period in prison. The sentence was suspended for five years. If he re-offends in the next five years he will have to serve the sentence. The man says that this is outrageous and he was just speaking his mind and he brings up freedom of speech. He says he'll be fine and not make any other comments about other religions but he isn't very happy about the whole thing.

Ford vs. Toyota

Ford and Toyota are having a battle about who's subcompact car is better. Some people say Ford but some other people will say Toyota. They can't really decide on peoples opinions because of what car they have and it's just not reliable. Ford had more sales in China and the United States but Toyota had the most Japan. Even a year after the Focus was released the sales are still increasing since then. They say the sales will strengthen even more within the next year by both cars.

Bombs Away!!

As of this week Haiti attempted to bomb the United States but that didn't work very well because the rocket came up short and landed in Canada. The rocket actually never exploded. It just landed and got stuck in the ground. Since Haiti attempted to bomb us they ended up getting completely wiped off the map. We sent up a couple two or three huge rockets and the country of Haiti is no longer. After this incident North Korea is now scared and gave up and trying to create a rocket. The End.

Samsung vs. Apple

Samsung is trying to beat apple with releasing a smart watch. They say they've been working on it for a long time but they can't seem to get it good enough to release it. Whoever releases it first will probably make the most sells because it's just the first smart watch out there. The Samsung watch might not even be running android. The race here still resembles how the battle between the two companies have high quality smart phones but the people say that the iPhone is better than Samsung's releases. Both watches will be released later in the year.

Executions

In Ohio there was a man that killed a man almost twenty years ago. The man took the consequence of killing the other guy. Frederick Treesh was executed for murdering the one security guard. While they interviewed him one he said "If you want me murdered, just say it." He knew what was going to happen to him and he didn't fight it. He wasn't executed just because of one killing, he was executed for being convicted of many crimes and sexual assaults. He died from poison almost just a little while it was injected into his body. This man was the 50th person executed since 1999 in Ohio.

Search Called Off

There was a sailboat that radioed in saying that their electronics were starting to fail. The Coast Guard sent out a search team but they didn't find them. They searched for two whole days and covered over twenty-thousand miles. There were four people on a boat, there were three adults and one four year old child. They lost radio contact when the man on the radio said that they were going to have to abandon ship because it was capsizing and would sink shortly. They didn't find the family or the capsized boat. They have no idea on who the family was or where they were going.

Top Movie

'A Good Day to Die Hard' brought in $29.3 million in four days. All together the movie brought in $37.5 million. 'Identity Thief' came close to being number one but just missed it by $2 million. 'Identity Thief' was Jason Bateman's biggest opening in a movie. 'Safe Haven' was also up there bringing in $25.2 million. All movies gave a run for the top ranked movie but the 'Die Hard' series is just too good for anything else.

He also happened to crash his Porsche the week before too.

Superbowl Ads

An ad during the Superbowl costed $3.8 million for 30 seconds. This was the most expensive ad buy on television. The only reason that it costs so much is because of all the people that watch it. Subway bought two spots to play an ad during the Superbowl. Another reason the Superbowl is a great spot for ads is because of all the free media publicity about the ad. Newspaper journalists write about the ads which gives them even more publicity than just having all the people see it during the Superbowl.

Bombings

Two people died in Turkey just outside of the capital. The attack was believed to be from the Al Qaeda or a group from Iran. The U.S. consulate sent out a message telling the visiting Americans in the country to not visit any U.S. places for a little bit for fear of another bombing. They are working on investigating the blast and finding out who did it but they are still working on that.

50M and more iPhones

Verizon says the iPhone accounted for 6.2 million out of the 9.8 million smartphones sold. If apple keeps up they would have shipped out 56 million iPhones within three months. This doubled the amount that was shipped out in the previous quarter. All smartphone sales were up 44% but apple had the most. When the iPhone 4s came out apple activated 46 million phones. Apple is a major contributor to the smartphone industry.
